I think those might be tendrils of darkness emanating from the Gremlin, rather than cracks. I could be wrong, though- maybe they’re basically the same thing.
One may note that the cracks move with Billie to the final panels, well out of range of the presumed effects of the Grem on the local environment alone.
These symbolisms are never by accident in a John Allison masterpiece.
The Sesh is clearly the pure embodiment of the party that never ends, until it destroys you, the world, and all of your friends.
“Here, if you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake, and I have a straw. There it is, that’s a straw, you see? Watch it. Now, my straw reaches acroooooooss the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I… drink… your… milkshake!”
We may not have stockpiled on toilet paper, hand sanitizer and N95 masks back in February, but we laid in a VERY healthy supply of bendy straws. No regrets.
I love how no facial expression appears more than once here.
Well, Maggie’s in panels 1 and 4 are quite similar.
It is rare in my experience that a tender scene features such prominently presented posteriors.
u should get more experiences
Haha, an excellent response which I wholeheartedly second.
“Adjacent to Love” would be a good title for something, too.
I hate to second guess the master, but… it should have been the title for this episode.
A Robert Palmer song?
Come on, Billie, Maggie needs you. You two always work best together. Pull yourself together.
MAGGIE: I can’t carry it for you, Billie, but I can carry you!
(oh, wait, wrong story…)
OK, I’ll say it.
MIGHT AS WELL FACE IT, YOU’RE ADJACENT TO LOVE!
Billie needs help. She’s beginning to crack!

Awwwwwww. Last panel is very important ♡♡♡. Billie need Maggie and both of them loves Mrs. Clovis ♡. The grumpy woman with a heart of gold ♡.
Or at least a heart adjacent to gold.
Well played, sir.
[checks our straw drawer]
It’s a fair cop
Billie’s face in panel 5 gave me flashbacks to Ren Hoek.
“Here, if you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake, and I have a straw. There it is, that’s a straw, you see? Watch it. Now, my straw reaches acroooooooss the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I… drink… your… milkshake!”
Oh god why is she crying yellow tears
It’s the influence of the margarita’s supernaturasl yellow cloud/glow.
Can anybody confirm that this is the first use of the word “lachrymose” in a webcomic?
I’ve got a longstanding theory that John has a word-of-the-day calendar & challenges himself to incorporate those into his work
“Can anybody confirm that this is the first use of the word “lachrymose” in a webcomic?”
Considering that there have been and are currently thousands of webcomics, no, probably not. 😉
The good news is Maggie was able to shake Billie out of the margarita’s insidious yellow aura in the nick of time.

PRIORITIES!
