One cheeky last one
Did Maggie’s plan work or has she just Dry Januaried our heroines into oblivion? Find out on Monday! Four comics next week (Mon-Thu) as Christmas With Clovis concludes and I prepare for the great wintersleep.

Maggie’s looking so wholesome in panel 5.
Well, apart from the fishnets.
What do you mean? Those stockings are nothing BUT wholes
RIMSHOT!!!!
Working together, Maggie and Billie certainly have a chance, but that last panel indicates that the Gremlin won’t go down without a fight. Our heroines must stand firm, and keep themselves from feeling guilty!
I stand vindicated in my concerns about The Sesh. I can’t even count the empties anymore. This ostensible human being is nothing more than a liquor-bottle-shaped hole in reality.
I.. aww, I too am feeling very judged. Perhaps I too should have a liver regenerating January, just in case.
I have been drink a bit too much black rum of late.
It’s just so delicious, though!
If a giant black hole with cracks all over it isn’t appearing in reality around you, and your friends aren’t literally disintegrating under the weight of your boozing party, I think you’re just fine.
I drink, I smoke, I do lots of libertine things. I like to *hope* that I tend to stop when it gets out of control, but sometimes I don’t.
Maybe I shouldn’t judge Seshie.
But pleasant demons are still demons, like I said a few days ago.
Big Mr. C vibes here
When someone color shifts into monochrome, you know they are ready to throw down. It’s like powering up.
Where did the gremlin even get all those bottles? Perhaps it’s not Billie and Maggie’s gremlin. Perhaps it followed them back to where it lives and this is Mrs Clovis’ gremlin?
Thinking aloud…
Pendennis storied into existence the sea monster as a hyperbolic incarnation of Penrose’s obsession with saving Tredregyn. He was eventually saved by Maggie incubating the solution (which logically had to exist as the equal and opposite of the monster).
Pendennis storied into existence the gremlin as a hyperbolic incarnation of Bellie’s obsession with saving the people of Tredregyn. She will be saved by Maggie (again) but who/where is the equal and opposite story force to the gremlin. I thought it was going to be Mrs Clovis, but not so sure now.
The Gremlin was seen hanging around long before Tom told that story, though.
The Gremlin’s power is the ability to conjure up alcoholic beverages out of thin air. And to make them float in thin air.
This is my interpretation as well, but it does raise the question: Why did we see him buying beer at Pixy Garage if he has the power to materialize alcoholic beverages out of thin air? Was he just doing it for show, as an excuse to enter the shop?
Maybe it’s like those mafiosos who have pizza parlors as a front for their mob businesses? It convinces people he’s human…you never move the real goods through the front door.
Maybe he can only manifest cans and drinks as his power grows.
I’ll drink to that!
That’s wild, I kind of love that.
I just realized from panel 5 that Maggie Warren + Billie Baker = Shelley Winters. Half sex bomb and half seemingly naive good girl.
Which is why, working together, Maggie and Billie are unstoppable. Just like Shelley.
Maggie + Billie = Shelley + Nemulon
Billie doesn’t seem so happy avoiding the drinks in the third panel. But she managed to follow Maggie’s example for the sake of Mrs. Clovis ♡♡♡. I Wonder what the mysterious Sasha G. will do.
I think in that last panel he’s… TRYING TO MAKE THEM FEEL BAD ABOUT IT!
Maybe. I just think he took an unexpected hit just as he was feeling his most powerful — and it hurt.
I like the bleaching of the intense red-green to a softer red-green
